Really excited to have been able to dust off my trowel to be part of this!

We’re starting a new project to help evaluate areas of the amazing @Flag_Fen! Using a small number of trenches we’ll be evaluating areas of the site to better understand the condition and preservation of Later Bronze Age timbers. Look out for more updates on our progress.

Loved being involved with this! Although, really need to move all my bookcases to the upstairs "office", so I look more academic and knowledgeable than sitting in front of shelves of post-flood junk and part-painted models.

Thankfully my first train journey in over a year is pretty quiet. Weird to be venturing out of the middle of nowhere but I need some research resources!

Today's working music, from one of my favourite games of all time, Akira Yamaoka's amazing Silent Hill soundtrack.

Great to see so many people at this morning’s @InstituteArch session on social media. Had to move my home office to plug into the router, the joy of rural internet!

Does anyone happen to know of any good reading around online ‘lurking’ behaviour on social media or otherwise?

Speech recognition is brilliant though. Current gems: "... dangers associated" = "dangers of breast satiated" and "Horniman Walrus" = "Horny War of the Roses"

Currently adding/editing subtitles on four videos I've recorded and listening to myself over and over is making me never want to speak again.

It’s been a year since I started my PhD. It’s not been an easy year for so many reasons but I’m still passionate about my research and working my hardest. Hopefully this year will be better!

After 13 years of being a wonderful dog, we’ve said goodbye to Colin today. Devastated and missing him so much already but trying to remember all the amazing times we had.

Colin went for a trim to help him keep cool. He’s 13 now and the hot weather hasn’t been helping his various conditions. Going to have to get used to this look!

After being flooded and losing all our furniture, we finally have a bed. It only took over 4 1/2 months to arrive.

Colin is snoozing and grumbling next to me while I try and get my first academic paper into shape. Finding it a bit scary that I’ll be putting something ‘out there’ but I’ve had some really helpful comments and feedback from reviewers, so fingers crossed!
