Today I was proud to witness Syrian Foreign Minister @AsaadHShaibani raise the 🇸🇾 flag over the Embassy in London — a historic moment.

Thank you Mehdi for being “pleased” Syrians are ecstatic their butcher is gone and they get a chance to maybe rebuild the 60% of the country that’s rubble. Or maybe find their loved ones in the mass graves. Or maybe get electricity for longer than 2 hours at a time. Anyways.

Henry Hamra, a Syrian-American, has become the first Jew to run for Syria's legislature since 1967. Hamra's father, Youssef, fled Hafez al-Assad's Syria in 1992, after a several decade-long Jewish travel ban was lifted.
