As expected, a few warm, sunny days following the rains have triggered the first movement of plum curculio into the orchard. Look for signs of crescent-shaped oviposition scars on blooms and developing fruitlets #onapple #IPM #scout2023 #ontag

Orchard systems can have a diversity of species in a range of habitats including bumble bees, mining bees, ground nesting bees and sweat bees. Wild bees are more successful at pollen transfer than honeybees and more tolerant of adverse weather like chilly, rainy or cloudy days.
