Today we take the opportunity to share a special moment. After sitting in storage the museum backshop staff worked hard to bring Alco RS-18 #1800, aka the "Chappy" back to life once more. There is much more work to do but for now the locomotive is listed as operational again.

Though a different locomotive was used in the poster it was the #1293 that led the way.

Did you know our own Canadian Pacific #1293 was a Bicentennial Star? In 1976 the #1293 was chosen to pull the Vermont's Bicentennial tour train, a high honor for a locomotive. This was when the locomotive was part of the original F. Nelson Blount's Steamtown collection.

We are proud to announce that Roundhouse Railcar Rally is set to return once again to the museum! So mark your calendars for July 12-13th from 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. to enjoy this great event for all ages. Tickets will be available for purchase at the visitor center depot.
