Jesus. Thank you! And what's more, I would argue that misusing a school speed-zone ordinance that way demeans and trivializes the statute itself, which has a very meaningful purpose. Thanks for growing up to not be another internet moron.

I get the nuance that’s pissing you off here. It’s not the ticket but the mislabeling. A speed ticket is a speeding ticket. But saying it’s a school zone infraction when school isn’t happening is, to someone who works with words, pretty frustrating.
@AoDespair
But the speed limit is 25 everywhere - the auto revenue machines, er cameras, are mostly in school zones. In June I got a red light infraction by mere inches, and one block later a 35 in a 25. Fun city.
@AoDespair
In Australia, school zone reduced speed limits are clearly signposted with the times in which those limits apply (usually 8am to 4pm weekdays). Everyone knows you can drive within the normal higher speed limit outside those times. No school = no reduced limit.
@AoDespair
What about stopping at a stop sign, or red light in the middle of the night, when no one is on the road? What would be the utility in that. Clearly, we resemble farm animals ,that still need to be prodded and ticketed bc our response to actual events cannot be discerned.
@AoDespair
Yesterday a 15 year old kid in Frisco Tx was killed while riding his bike to school. It was the first day of school and he was crossing a busy street to attend th3 morning session of football practice.
