It's analysts' task to render the complexity of the social dynamics and landscapes studied and challenge well-established binary narratives. I tried to do this in my PhD research in Burundi, which I talk about in this blog post. Thanks @AfricaAtLSE for offering this opportunity!.
Burundi is often considered as a conflict-affected country where Hutu and Tutsi are opposed to each other because of past episodes of violence between them. The social reality of people in the country is much more complex than this. Read more ➡️
