Before one gets comments such as "oh no only 1.7 billion" It's relative to the franchise as a whole. It is greatly diminished returns and shows that each film is making less than the last. Disney may be cautious to give Avatar 4 a 400 million dollar budget with this in mind.

Seriously red flag for the Avatar franchise Fire and Ash is set to earn only 1.5-1.7 billion in it's theatrical run according to estimates It has still made money, but much less than previous films. Avatar- 2.9 billion Avatar 2- 2.3 billion Avatar 3- 1.7 billion
