The design of this upcoming #Kona #installation at The Row Hotel at Assembly Row, #Somerville, #USA, responds to the client brief, which asked for an #ArtDeco-inspired #mural. Conceptualized by #RuchikaGrover

The Fasetto, designed by our #RuchikaGrover, is part of our Ishi Kiri Collection, derives inspiration from the #traditional #Japanese #paperfolding art #origami. Patterns are an #embossed interpretation of the engraved pattern from ceiling of the #TajMahal in #India.

This custom-designed #table is carved out of #petrified #wood and stands on copper legs. The #geometricpatterns of the Kona are inlayed into the wood in Pristine #WhiteMarble.

#anomaworkprocess Step 7: Once the #millingprocess ends, product is worked on by #skilled #stoneartisans. #Intricate details & #textures are carved into the stone. More importantly, however, this step helps add a “human touch” to a predominantly digitally-fabricated product

#anomaworkprocess Step 5: The #milling process begins with the placing base stone on the #CNC machine bed. A rotating #cylindricalcuttingtool performs cutting & drilling operations on the stone that move along multiple axes while the base stone is moved in different directions

#anomaworkprocess Step 4: Once the #threedimensional model is prepared, dimensions are translated into manufacturing directives and fed into a Computer Numerical Controlled (#CNC) #millingmachine at our digital fabrication unit in #India.

#anomaworkprocess Step 3: Once the two-dimensional drawing takes shape, three-dimensional modeling comes into the picture. Employing software programs such as Autodesk 3ds Max, intricate textures and details are added.
