Me and my best friend, my Dad
@NicPav
after the 2009 Grand Final and now today after the 2022 Grand Final. To win one as a 21year old, means so so much to me. To sit next to my entire world and share this with you, Dad, means even more.
@GeelongCats
. PREMIERS BABY
Surprise! I’ve accepted a role as
@1116sen
weekend news reader! Tune in every half hour to hear me! Another dream opportunity and I’m so excited to be involved!
Well, I’m here.
If you told 8 year old Anna that at 22, she’d be reporting from the AFL Grand Final, she wouldn’t believe you.
An absolute dream come true.
I have been blessed seeing my
@GeelongCats
win 4 (!) and be at those games, but today is a new chapter as a journalist!
In happy news! I’ll be taking over the reigns as your weekday Morning News Reader for SEN! I start full time next Monday and I’ll be juggling radio with full time uni so it’ll be a blast. ☺️ Thanks for all the love as usual, looking forward to this challenge ahead!
The victory lap finishes where it began. My Papou migrated from Cyprus to Melbourne in ‘51 & chose Geelong because the colours matched the Greek flag. He got to see 07, 09 and 11 and raised my dad and I to be die hard Cats. I wish he could see this one too. We did it Papou!💙🤍
One year at SEN this week! That flew by. Started as the weekend News Reader and now read the Weekday Morning News every day! Thanks for all the support- looking forward to plenty more fun at SEN HQ!
Spending the first half of my 21st birthday doing what I love for SEN! You can hear me read the news with an extra birthday pep across Australia every half an hour on SEN!
Some personal news (always wanted to say this!) I’ve accepted a role as Assistant Editor (content producer) at Cricket Australia for the summer and I’m stoked! This is a dream come true - I can’t wait to get into it + cover all forms of this great game
@CricketAus
@cricketcomau
Well, cats out of the bag now! I started today as a Sports Journalist at Channel 9, part of the Wide World of Sports team!
@wwos
This is a dream role and I’m stoked to get back into covering sport, especially AFL!
Here’s my first article 😀
Very proud to graduate from
@latrobe
today with a Bachelor of Media and Communications (Majoring in Journalism and Sports Journalism). Thank you to my amazing family for their endless support as I finished my degree while also working full time at SEN❤️ (I get to keep the hat!)
We’ve met a lovely Geelong man with his daughter sitting near us at the ‘G. He’s got Parkinson’s, just like my Papou (who sadly passed in 2019). My dad’s gone to buy him a coffee and they’re having very candid chats. Think it reminds him of his dad, and that makes me happy😊
Back watching our
@GeelongCats
together. No where else I’d rather be than sitting next to my Dad watching Geelong (and getting that win was the cherry on top!!)
#AFLCatsDons
My Grandma Mary passed away on Thursday, aged 87.
I had the honour of being her carer during the pandemic, 2 years full of love, laughs and trust.
It was a privilege to with her when she passed so peacefully, after a stellar fight.
A superstar, saint, our angel on earth RIP❤️
He’s had my heart since I was 9 and tonight he reaches 250. A workhorse, a warrior, premiership player and a Geelong champion. Congratulations, Mitch.
@GeelongCats
Tonight, my Dad
@NicPav
was elevated to Legend Status of our footy club
@PowerhouseAFC
, an honour bestowed on only six before him. It’s the highest honour you can receive at the House and there is no one more deserving. Congrats to my wonderful father, I am so lucky to have you!
News Reader goes live! Well that was a fun morning. Thanks for having me live on air to share my biggest talking point of the AFL for R20
@davidking34
@kanecornes
@1116sen
… in between my actual job of reading the news☺️😉!!
I have been privileged to see truly the greatest era the Geelong Football Club has experienced. Tom Hawkins reaching this milestone is yet another moment I can sit back and truly go ‘wow, I’m bloody lucky’. An Easter Monday to remember!
@GeelongCats
Very happy and grateful to be healthy and back in the studio for SEN! Thank you for all the kind messages to feel better. Now back to regular programming - you can hear me reading your National News every half an hour across Australia on SEN this morning!
For the final time in 2022…
My top 5 AFL Grand Final moments:

Joel Selwood. What a leader. Embodies everything that is good about the blue and white hoops. Congratulations on the Jim Stynes Award, so fitting for all he has done off field
@GeelongCats
Just a little Anna (reading some Australian cricket book) who would be pinching herself knowing future her would be starting a role with Cricket Australia this week💚💛
Someone tell me why Dad and I have just watched the full Grand Final (again) and we are both sobbing? Best day of my life! Also, Swans fans standing up to applaud Joel Selwood when he got the ball with 2 mins left to play- all class by the Bloods, great culture!
My Papou, who migrated from Cyprus in 1951, loved soccer and Australia as his very own until the day he died. Hope he enjoyed that win last night🤍 Dad reckons he did💛💚
If I could bottle up the way
@1116sen
erupted when Andrew Redmayne saved that fateful goal…I would…just wow!!! Where were you when the Aussies qualified for the World Cup??? Just amazing!
#WorldCup2022

Happy 163rd Birthday to one of the loves of my life (as my Dad says)
@GeelongCats
. You have brought me and my father the most joy in our lives and when everything seems difficult, you remain our constant💙🤍
As
@jdestoop80
once said “Anna is losing her mind that the Premiership Cup is in the building!” Yes I am Jules, yes I am!
@1116sen
. So good to bring my Uncle
@jamesdemetrie
to hold the Cup at work today!
It has been surreal with the death of Shane Warne today, but I am so honoured to be in the studio at SEN to help share the news and stories that made Warnie such a great Australian icon. Tune in to SEN to hear from the best as we cover Warnie’s tragic death but special life🤍
Should not underestimate Isaac Smith’s efforts this season for
@GeelongCats
. 4th in Carji Best + Fairest, slid into the side seamlessly. If you’d told me 12 months ago that a 3-time Hawthorn premiership player would take out 4th in the Cats BnF I would’ve laughed! Well played Iz!
2022, thank you.
The happiest year of my life. A Geelong premiership, full time job at my dream organisation, graduated uni, Dad’s Legend Status and more.
Losing my Grandma, my angel was heartbreaking, but she is forever with us now🦉 🕊️🐞
Thanks for the love, here’s to 2023!
My dad is the best, I can’t get radio coverage of the Geelong game rn and am not near a TV, so he’s at home watching the Cats game commentating to me via the phone 🥺 he really is my best friend
#AFLCatsDons
Rewatching the GF w Dad (KROCK edition) and my fave thing Dad did post Cats flag was go “I’m going to make sure you never forget this experience” and proceeded to buy me all Premiership merch, frame pics of us, take me to hold the Cup, cause he wants me to always remember it😭
Since I began watching footy Tom has been in the picture. One of the legends of our club. A true gentleman, champion of our game and
@GeelongCats
💙My favourite memory of him was his third quarter in the 2011 Grand Final.
#Hawk300
@tomhawkins_

Just a gentle reminder that if you send me nameless and address-less hate mail in a cute little dog card, it does not make it better. A reminder to please be kind, we’re all just trying to do our jobs ☺️

Me (in my head): yeah, ask him how he thinks he’ll go against the difficult St Kilda backline, Goddard is very good
Me, panicking: Ummmm, how tall are you?
Tom: That’s a great question. I’m 198cm. 200cm on a good day!
