Oops, almost missed this result. This is an encouraging win for Stef.

Medvedev said the courts are slower than in previous years 😭.Though to be fair to him, he didn't call them *slow* — just *slower* than they used to be.

Which made me check who was the last player to win a tournament with both Sinner and Alcaraz in the draw:.Rublev at 2024 Madrid (d. Alcaraz in QF while Sinner gave a walkover to FAA). And the last tournament where both Sinner and Alcaraz actually lost a match was 2023 YEC.

Khachanov was down to #27 in April. He will return into Top 10 after Cincy unless one of Rune/Ruud reaches at least semifinal.

Rublev is not #10, Musetti is. I wish people stop using that livetennisEU website that is littered with errors. There's live rankings on the ATP website and, of course, @OpenEraRankings — much more reliable source of ranking updates.
New ATP Top 10 after Toronto:. 1. Sinner, 12.030.2. Alcaraz, 8.600.3. Zverev, 6.380.4. Fritz, 5.485.5. Draper, 4.650.6. Shelton, 4.320 (+1).7. Djokovic, 4.130 (-1).8. De Minaur, 3.480.9. Rune, 3.340.10. Rublev, 3.210 (+1). (Musetti leaves the top 10).

Shelton has now de facto qualified for Turin as well.
So, Alcaraz, Sinner and Zverev are 100% in for YEC and Shelton, Fritz and Draper are almost safe as well — hard to see them waste their lead over Musetti *on hardcourts* barring catastrophic loss of form or injury. That's 6 of 8 spots already decided. 7 if Djokovic opts to play.
