This was a victory which was delivered via a variety of different union tactics, which included some 're-imagining the university' [as a sustainable institution for all] and a bit of 'gloves-off fighting for achievable goals'. I'm glad the Times has quoted me on this today.
Just seen the message from @OpenUniversity that Aug 1st is here and now the OU's Associate Lecturers are on permanent contracts - after 53 years of temporary employment. c. 4000 workers decasualised, a brilliant victory by @oubucu.
