I remain determined to continue working for all Maine people in my next term, because it’s my job to serve our state and see that folks can provide for their families and put food on their table. The business of politics isn’t about speeches and parades, it’s about people.

Up at dawn this morning to thank the hardworking men and women outside the South Gate at Bath Iron Works. It has been the privilege of a lifetime to work on behalf of the people of Maine — fighting for good jobs like the ones here in Bath.

I’m humbled. It has been a privilege to serve you in the Senate for the past six years, and it’s an honor to be elected for another term. We must continue our work to protect our environment, Social Security, and Medicare; increase access to healthcare and education;

Inspired by the number of voters reached during GOTV! We had more than 697 shifts to knock on 14,240 doors and make 26,540 calls to help neighbors get to the polls. Thanks to all who came out--democracy isn't a spectator sport and I'm humbled by the energy this election.

Over the past four days, we have made a statewide effort to help voters across Maine get out and vote. This was the final and most important phase of our campaign -- and we are grateful to every volunteer that contributed to our efforts. We couldn’t have done it without you!

It’s 8 p.m., and here in Maine, the polls have officially closed. For our campaign, it means that Get Out The Vote has officially come to end. Our phone banks have made their final calls, and our canvassers have knocked on their last doors.

It's great to see so many people at the polls today, and encouraging to see those who have already voted helping others make a plan to get to the polls. Do you know when you’re going to make time this afternoon to vote?

Our state leads the country with one of the highest voter turnouts -- and let’s keep that tradition going today. Maine people know the importance of civic responsibility, and our voting record proves it.

Make a solid plan to vote this afternoon! Bring your kids to the polls after you pick them up from school and teach them about the importance of civic engagement -- it’s never too early to learn about how to exercise your rights. Plus, you can cast your ballot! #ElectionDay

All elections are important, but this election feels especially critical as it will determine the course of our state and nation for at least the next two years, but likely more. #ElectionDay

We’ve done our civic duty and voted, which is what democracy is all about. It was wonderful to be able to share the experience with family, friends, and neighbors this morning in Brunswick. I'll be on the road talking to voters today, hope to see you out there! #ElectionDay

Election day is here! Which means it’s our LAST DAY of GOTV! When we say this is our final push, we mean it! Our dedicated team of staff members and volunteers were awake before sunrise to hit the streets at 5 am to leave a reminder to vote on doors across Maine. #ElectionDay

We are wrapping up DAY 3 of GOTV here in Belfast! These volunteers are reaching people after work to find out if they have a plan to vote tomorrow. With one more day left, our team will be out in full force tomorrow to make sure that everyone can have their voice heard!

Thanks so much to all of our volunteers in Portland. Democracy isn’t a spectator sport, and the women and men who are making calls and knocking doors to get their neighbors to the polls is a testament to Maine people’s dedication to our state and our country.
