Two young boys just walked their dog by my house. One was in a PJ onesie with a blue faux hawk. The other was wearing a top hat. God I love Asheville.

I don’t know yet what is next for me, but I’ve got a little bit of time to figure it out and have faith it’ll all work out for the best. The good news is that we will be staying put in Asheville. These mountains aren’t quite done with us yet.

I feel so lucky to have had a 10-year career in journalism that has taken me so many places and given me the opportunity to meet and work with so many wonderful people. I wouldn’t trade the amazing experiences I’ve had and the things that I’ve learned for anything.

This month I was offered a severance opportunity from Gannett and after much thought I have decided to accept. My last day at The Citizen Times before I “retire” is Dec. 1.

Wow. After a producer had a hunch about several state senate seats in Florida, this local tv station found shell candidates funded by a PAC whose donations track back to a PO Box in Atlanta. When reached, the candidates lied about their identities.
