2 Raven circling low over Colmore Row near Snow Hill Station just. A tick for this area of Brum and great to hear their gronking calls echoing around the buildings here 👌@stevelilart @MrValley1 @NaturallyBirmi1 @CllrMajid @WTBBC @JimPanda @Andy_Underscore @JamieHicken

So this week, we lost both Tilt in the City Centre and Wildcat in Stirchley 😭 Soon, the only pub left in Birmingham will ironically be The Flapper after its 17th 'closing down' party...

It was great to record three new flies @BibbeysWildFarm this weekend, a Lance Fly of the Genus Lonchaea and two Soldier Flies: Yellow-legged Black (Pachygaster leachii) and Common Orange Leigionnaire (Beria vallata)

With the talk around the recent (silly) proposal by the Reform Party to only allow UK, England or County Flags to be flown from public buildings I thought it would be a good time to reshare my Black Country flags project: https://t.co/lfihfZne8L

Moth trap set up for tonight! As part of the City Nature Challenge my Wildlife Trust colleague Jake and I are engaging in a "moth-off" to see who can record the most species on a single night of moth trapping this weekend.

And as a bonus, here's a flag for Sandwell in the style of South Korea... (using the symbols and colours from the @sandwellcouncil crest)

* On re-reading the email, I realise the person asked for a flag of BOURNHEATH, not Bentley Heath. My bad. Oh well. Watch this space for a Bournheath flag I guess...

The Bentley Heath* flag is based on a combination of the coat of arms of Lord Byron, who was once lord of the manor, and the emblem of Bentley Heath School.

The Hollywood flag is inspired by the school crest of Hollywood Primary School, and I decided to make the flag in the style of the Canada flag for reasons of whimsy...

So here's my attempt at a flag for Redditch. It's based on the crest of Redditch Council. The Cross is a reference to St Stephen, patron of both the Abbey and the Parish Church. The green of the Cross commemorates Feckenham Forest. The Borough stands within this former Forest.
