Cozy fantasy is still establishing itself as a powerhouse. I don’t think it’s peaking yet either. And so, yeah, you’ll be getting a bit more from me in the Cozy-Fantasy-Sphere (soon). But it’ll be authentically my own.

I will not give you rehashes of old stories. But I like to think I can write “to market” while adding my own twist to it.

Now in Indie fantasy we find almost more newness than people can consume. How do you rise to the top, providing innovation, while also meeting the demands of the market? This has been on my mind lately.

The Publishing Machine is going to decide what makes them money. For sure. And it rewards those that “stick to the script.” But what it doesn’t bring up are the outliers that have always existed, and bring freshness to the genre. They’ve always existed.

This analysis has had me thinking for the last 24 hours. It might make you mad, you might find you agree, but the commentary on how Modern Fantasy become the money maker it is, is intriguing.

The unspoken themes in my books is authenticity. Jovan as the authentic father. Rik as caring husband and veterinarian. Jined as an pursuer of an authentic faith. Hanen and Rallia seeking value in their simple job. Katiam and Seriah seeking purpose. Seek Authenticity.
