We will examine specific types of inhibitory cells used to "subtracting away" sensory signals that are predictable. We will also be able to track the FF/FB signal flow throughout visual cortex at the cellular level. DM/email me if interested in joining the team!.
.@VanderbiltU scientists Alex Maier, @BastosLabNeuro, and @jake_westerberg are leading a project to explore the #neuroscience of predictive coding. 🧵4.

Very exciting that the @AllenInstitute has awarded the #OpenScope award to myself, @jake_westerberg (left) and Alex Maier (right) to use neuropixels recordings and optogenetics to study predictive coding in the brain! @SophyXiong (mid. right) will also join the analysis team.
🔓🔬 More access granted to our “observatory of the mind.” Announcing three new #OpenScope projects to study the brain in action. #openscience #neuroscience🧵1.

And in almost perfect synchrony with the Jia paper, @GijsPlomp and Elham Barzegaran demonstrate feedforward and feedback modules in the local field potentials with gamma feeding forward and lower frequencies feeding back. @AllenInsitute neuropixels data.
