How do we ensure that the explorative tools and maps of #softcitysensing do not get reified and stabilized by urban planners under the pressure of thinking fast - not slow? Great discussions yesterday @MARG_manchester. Thanks to @AlbenaYaneva and Benjamin for hosting my talk!

Is the a priori something we are unaware of and thus cannot experiment with? If not, what are the affordances of digital methods? Can computational experiments spur Kuhnian paradigm shifts? Thanks to @NoortjeMarres for hosting me and the @CIMethods crowd for a great discusion 🙏

In this paper I draw on operationalist pragmatism to sketch a philosophical foundation for the way I - and others? - work with digital methods. I illustrate my points through qualitative vignettes from data sprints with @citiesforpeople.
