Drawing inspiration from the traditional hip-roofed homes of the region, the exterior design showcases a sleek yet functional aesthetic, with charred wood cladding serving as a durable shield against the elements, destined to age gracefully over time.⁠ ⁠

Working with local craftspeople allows for a genuine connection to the community and an appreciation for unique, handcrafted elements. Their ceramics not only enhance the visual appeal of the spaces but also add a tactile, human touch that resonates with guests.

With the iconic Airstream as a starting point, we looked to modernist masterpieces for inspiration. This resulted in the clubhouse's clean, rectilinear planes complementing the surrounding landscape and setting the tone for the polished rural retreat. Client @autocamp⁠

Located in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, this Off-Grid Cabin cantilevers over granite boulders and offers a scenic view of the local lake. With 180-degree uninterrupted views, this project blurs the lines between the interior and exterior landscape.

The building's weathered steel facade, with its rich patina, embodies the duality of rawness and refinement. This contrast creates a visual narrative where the natural aging of the material enhances its rugged beauty, juxtaposed against the building's clean, intentional lines.
