The EU-funded EU for Economic Growth (EU4EG) programme empowered 100+ businesses across 🇲🇰, fostering growth & innovation with over €5.5 million in grants. Key outcomes include creation of new jobs, establishment of 37 companies & a 30% increase in company performance. 🇪🇺🤝🇲🇰

Under the slogan “Change the story, end the violence”, we launched the 16 Days of Activism campaign against gender-based violence🧡which calls on us all to take a clear & courageous stand to ensure that every woman & girl in 🇲🇰 can feel safe and live a life free from violence.

We're committed to combating all forms of violence against women, including the growing threat of cyber-violence. Through 🇪🇺-supported initiatives like "Young Women Tackle Cyber-Violence" in 🇲🇰, victims receive legal and psycho-social support.

To achieve modern & sustainable water management we need good institutional capacity & clear rules, and completing the Skopje collector system & the wastewater treatment plant, both co-financed by 🇪🇺, would make a real positive difference regarding the Vardar river pollution.

Good start to the day today with a timely Nordic-Baltic event at @EuHouseSkopje, on Foreign Information Manipulation and Interference (FIMI), hosted by 🇱🇹, 🇸🇪 and 🇪🇺. Whole-of-society approaches and solid coordination needed, with key role for civil society, media and government.

We are now halfway through the implementation of the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans. Important progress was made, but a lot more work lies ahead to improve citizens' lives across the region. Let's step up efforts together & bring the positive change people rightly expect.

🇪🇺 & CoE helping 🇲🇰 improve conditions in prisons: after Shtip, Prilep & Kumanovo prisons, Idrizovo Prison also got a children’s corner – a safe place for young visitors during family visits. Strong family bonds help prisoners’ social reintegration & future desistence from crime.

Marking the European Day of Justice under the motto “Let’s bring justice closer to citizens”. The 🇪🇺, CoE and 🇲🇰 authorities are working together to strengthen the free legal aid system - and there are results. Free legal aid is not an act of charity – it is a human right.

Today, the 2025 Enlargement Report was presented to the President of the Court of Appeal of Bitola, Zhaklina Doveden, while later on, in Struga, to the Mayor Mendi Qyra and to civil society and academic representatives. Various aspects of the report were discussed with them all.
