We love challenging young minds. Learning is like working out… it should always be just a liiiittle bit tough, that’s how you get stronger. You can tell these babies feel their brains growing! 🥰🥰🥰 Makes my heart smile!.
When kids are academically challenged w/ strategic supports, they get EXCITED about learning. Here are a few KG students using Accelerated Reader, which usually doesn’t start until 2nd grade! They’re engaged & loving it! @collierschools We are Making Readers and Making Leaders!!

Does ur kiddo get overwhelmed w/ their work? So many kids do. A whole page of questions can seem so insurmountable. Try this trick of isolating one item @ a time. Once we tried this strategy, this student was off and running & finished the entire page in 6-8 min! @collierschools

Our first graders are working in pairs/ triads to identify patterns with numbers up to 100! We did some quick group work and then a GALLERY WALK to look at our friends’ thinking 🤔 We all found different ways to identify and explain our patterns. @AVEDragonStrong 🧮

CREATING THINKING CLASSROOMS means tossing aside old fashioned ways of sage-on-the-stage teaching, and letting learners struggle. This activity was such a great example of what being a learner should feel like! The arguments… LOL @collierschools 🤓🤨🤪🥸
