We found #collaboration among surgical sub-specialities in head and neck reconstruction research is low compared to the potential. We also focus on different subtopics, so can benefit from working together 🤝 https://t.co/1ZcTjzXB3g.

Loved this event with @thenocturnists Dr. Emily Silverman. There is so much value in us telling our stories in healthcare to build community and change our culture. So glad she’s created this beautiful outlet.

Normally I have to aggressively yank on the door from the stairs to my office at least 5x before it’ll open. Today I noticed someone rigged it, so it now easily opens. Sometimes it’s the little things…☺️

Will always remember talking to her at an event before having my 1st child when I was a resident. She was so open, funny, & strong when talking about being a mother & a surgeon. Such an inspiration 🤩.

Always! I first heard her speak at the DC Chapter of the @AmCollSurgeons back in 2010 and have admired her from afar ever since. I will never forget her lecture on managing time as @WomenSurgeons As an aside, I don’t think she ages, does she? (Looks the same to me.)

Just listened to a wonderful conference on moral injury in surgery. Cultivating cultures of humility & creating peer support networks for those of us in our early careers in #microsurgery & #plasticsurgery is so important. Curious what other specialties have in place?

❤️ some good medial thigh flap anatomy Profunda artery perforators going thru adductor magnus to supply skin with gracilis muscle anterior. Used both flaps for perineal #reconstruction, but can use in many other areas including breast, head and neck, and facial reanimation🔬🤓

Just tuned in this AM…❤️ the concept of the false dichotomy in healthcare of beauty OR function. I think that’s part of why I chose reconstructive surgery for a career: it definitely connects beauty & function #plasticsurgery #microsurgery
