The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for our area from 10pm Sunday (2/15) through 10pm Wednesday (2/18). They are predicting 1-2 feet of snow around the 2000 ft mark with low visibility. Drive slow, carry chains and be safe Amador.

Westbound #2 lane is partially blocked on SR-88 at Mace Drive due to a disabled 53 ft big rig. Assistance is enroute, and the lane is expected to be cleared within the next 2 hours. Please use caution in the area and do not cross double yellow lines unless it is safe to do so.

Earlier today, a truck tractor with doubles lost part of its hay load while traveling through a turn in Amador County. Fortunately, no one was injured and there was no damage to property or the roadway This serves as a great reminder that even properly secured loads can shift.

CHP conducted a School Bus Red Light Runner Enforcement Operation throughout the county. An officer rode onboard a school bus with patrol units positioned along the route. When drivers failed to stop for the school bus displaying flashing red lights enforcement action was taken.
