- Actually cook meals. Cooking is not assembling prepackaged components. It's also not heating up manufactured "meals". - Eat as a family at the dinner table for at least one meal. This is usually supper, for us. - Family walks in neighborhood. Talk to neighbors, too.
Living against the spirit of the age. Some suggestions:. - Don't watch porn or gamble.- Give things/money away, habitually.- Live where your beloved people are, not where a higher salary might take you.- Make/fix/mend things.- Sing or whistle in public places.- Slow down. Yours?.

There's a local pagan who carries kitschy icon cards around in her purse. She says she collects them because they're beautiful, but she can't explain why. She also carries around little Buddha images--no problem talking about those.

It's a great song. I'm sure Reformed folk have some way of thinking about that hymn that makes it work for them--but it just lands different when you know the words intend to inspire the "pietist".

Until this week, I did not know that the hymn, "Be Still, My Soul" was written by a Lutheran nun within the German pietistic movement. Do you know how many times we sang that song as a Reformed Baptist? 😂😂😂S.
