By the same logic have UofM ranked above Miami because we lost to 2 ranked teams with a true freshman QB. One was against at Oklahoma on week 2, first road game for our true-freshman, and the other was at USC. (Also we do rank above them in Colley Matrix)
Miami argument: “Miami beat Notre Dame.” Notre Dame argument: “The matchup took place in Week 1, and early-season games should never be weighed too heavily in the rankings because teams are still establishing rhythm, personnel structure, and in-game identity. Week 1 results are

I think @joelklatt rightfully pointed out Texas’ win over Oklahoma would have been severely discounted if they had not rushed Mateer back and said “our Heisman contender QB was injured & out for the game”. We’d not be flirting Texas in the playoffs with 3-Ls if that was the case

with onside kicks while up, outside the 4th quarter, to shift or maintain momentum. We saw this with UCLA against their Penn State upset too. It stands in stark contrast to the NFL where the new rule change made the onside kicks predictable “hail marry”s for trailing teams.

Kerby not only managed to curb Texas’ momentum with the 4th downs, but the surprise onside kick was the cherry on top. A choice that can be motivated by the momentum shifting back to Georgia’s side or Texas’ dangerous return man. A new trend is shaping up in college football

Favorite coaching decision of today: Kirby Smart going for it twice to get a TD after having Texas score from an INT, and then going for a surprise onside kick to maintain momentum. Texas was clearly getting momentum after stalling following their starting drive

With a win over Bama, Oklahoma might have opened the Pandora’s Box of playoff scenarios with 5 or even 6 playoff teams. If Mateer was healthy against Texas and Oklahoma was going as 1-L team, I’d be cheering for them to do well but Michigan needs as much chaos as possible

Indiana went from perpetual losing seasons, losing to Michigan 52-7 in 2023 to a playoff appearance and #2 team in the country. Iowa went from the worst offense in the league to an actually enjoyable offense with proper passing attack. Big10 stereotypes are no longer applicable

Officiating was terrible. Northwestern had a pass that was clearly incomplete as it was touching the ground (and it was not reviewed) Morgan recovered his own fumble but it was given to Northwestern This hit should have been reviewed for targeting

Michigan basketball: wins a close game with 22 turnovers that came to the last play Michigan football: Hold my beer and hot dog because we are going to do 5 turnovers and last second FG!

Also: TAMU comeback?! I was hoping further SEC chaos with TAMU losing to SC and Texas but Texas losing to Georgia to maybe force only 3 SEC teams to the playoffs (Alabama, Georgia, Ole Miss) as opposed to the current projected 4 (all above+TAMU)

we need Marshall and Marsh healthy and Underwood to be consistent like the first 2 quarters

(2022 was Corum-Edwards-Mullings while this year is Haynes-Marshall-Kuzdzall). Other than the last quarter and a half the team looked much better and Marsh is becoming a genuine passing threat to complement the rushing offense. If we want to beat OSU and get to the playoffs

it was a game we could out away fast and gotten our backups some playing time without risking starters like Marshall. This reminds me of the 2022 Illinois game where we lost Corum and hanged on by a walkoff FG. Just like in 2022 we are lucky that we have a deep RB room

due to a bad handoff?! We were lucky to get another stop and have our 3rd string RB get 3+ yards per carry at the end. I am not going to be upset about a win when we turned the ball over 5 times with other critical mistakes (missed FG, untimely penalties, multiple sacks) but

Defense was bend but not break, getting 3 red zone stops (held for a FG). Yet everything changed in the 3rd quarter with a punt return fumble (which was recovered, a bad calls by refs) and followed by the 2 back-to-back INTs by Underwood. Next we loose Marshall and turnover

The game should have never been this close or stressful. Offense was humming great and Underwood was in passing rhythm like we have not seen before. Northwestern managed to shut down our rushing offense for the most part but the passing stepped up and helped cover

Losing power in a close game with 2 minutes to go was the most frustrating experience ever! Thankfully unlike in cable days we were able to pick up the stream from our phone (and mute all apps for no spoilers). Honestly winning in a 5 turnover game is a relief.

Self inflicted wounds. Penalties to give first down in critical defensive possessions. Turnover off trick play, turnover due to bad punt return (and bad calls by officials), now a short field INT. Now we are trailing in a close ball game.

If we are letting back to back big receiving plays against Northwestern I do not know what are we going to do against Smith and Tate in 2 weeks. Defense has been bend but not break for the entire game but cracks are showing
