A little more than two years ago, Governor Cooper first appointed me to serve as your N.C. Supreme Court Justice. Thank you for electing me to keep that seat, and I pledge to continue serving the people of this state without fear or favor.

On the anniversary of 9/11, I’m thinking of the brave first responders who jumped into action to save lives, and holding close the families who lost loved ones that day.

The Pender County NAACP had a screening yesterday of the PBS documentary American Coup: Wilmington 1898 and it was such an honor to speak to them before the movie about why we must be so vigilant about learning from history. Thank you for inviting me! @ncnaacp

Yesterday was a big day at my house. It marked 10 years since I rescued my dog Goose (and what we call his 11th birthday). He was so sick in February that I wasn’t sure we’d make it to that anniversary. But he bounced back! Cheers to a decade with the best furry friend a gal

I had so much fun last week at the @LWVofWake celebration of Women’s Equality Day. They honored all women serving Wake County in elected office and treated us to remarks by the inimitable Leoneda Inge.
