Quick Shot: Terminology for Writers Nauseated = feel like vomiting Nauseous = make other’s nauseated Unless you MEAN it, STOP saying “I’m NAUSEOUS,” which really means “stay away, I have a toxic personality and will be a burden on your soul.” #writing #amwriting #AuthorLife

Hey #WritingCommunity friends! Looking for advice on how to split up a 250k word adult SF series. I’m 70k in. I’d love to make it a trilogy, but 85k each seems short. Advice on #querying seems to suggest a first novel of 125k is too long, but that doesnt seem right Help!

The tragedy of the “flatline” Everyone remotely involved in healthcare knows, you can’t shock a “flatline.” Someone with a flatline rhythm, or ‘asystole,’ can only recover w/CPR and potentially meds like epinephrine A shock just proves your character is uneducated #writing

So much of what we do is an algorithm, but felt like i saved a life last night Saw a patient lost to follow up, found an old note about a pacemaker 10 years ago for mobitz 2, had it interrogated to check the battery. 100% av paced. The battery was about to die. #MedTwitter

Just finished @hughhowey novel #beacon23. Great piece of writing. Blown away by the internalization. If you don’t like SciFi, see if this changes your mind. Well done.

As an Emergency Physician, how am I supposed to answer the question: “How is work going?” The ER is… Joyful Stressful Dangerous Humorous Chaotic Fulfilling But if the bar is that I didn’t see a sexual assault victim this week, work is never “good” #MedTwitter #ER #Emergency

I’ve taken a few months off from #amquerying After the relentless slog, this week I found out I’m a finalist for the @KillerNashville Claymore award and my bespoke query/first 5 will be featured on @TSNOTYAW podcast tomorrow This modicum of hope should last me at least 2-5 yrs

Why is #congress proposing a 1.5% CMS rate cut for physicians when inflation is >5% and physician burnout is at an all time high? Sorry we didn’t risk our lives or do more to fulfill our ethical duty during a pandemic to deserve better… #MedTwitter #CMS #Burnout

Life has demanded a break from most things other than family and work, which meant a pause to the demands in #amquerying. Meanwhile, had a neuron fire off today about how a passion of mine could easily become a 10+ volume series. 🤷 #writersoftwitter #WritingCommunity
