Wow. So many people seem really angry that Yumi Stynes co-wrote an age-appropriate sex education book, accusing her of 'grooming'. Yet almost none of these people have tweets criticising the Catholic Church, or other organisations with actual histories of grooming and CSA.

I am deeply, deeply worried about what the end of mandatory quarantine for confirmed covid cases will mean. It’s not because we have some magical defence against covid, it’s because the government doesn’t want to keep paying support payments.

All the guys on my Facebook who were really into crypto mining and NFTs a couple of years ago are now starting "world first" AI businesses. It's fascinating. They should be studied in a lab. The masculine version of jumping from Tupperware to Thermomix to essential oils.

@AnaKasparian As someone who’s had a hysterectomy, I find this kind of language really helpful when people are discussing something clinical - like, does this text need to be done by everyone, is it only a risk if you have ovaries, or is it something that effects uterus owners.

@AnaKasparian I haven’t seen anyone using those terms outside medical settings, where it helps to make sure those with uteruses are included, but those who don’t aren’t worried about needing certain tests. People should say women when they mean women, but be precise when speaking anatomically.

Giving Victorians in lockdown support isn’t “favouritism”? What the fuck? The states aren’t a group of squabbling siblings who need the same amount of pocket money. We are Australians who are locked down to protect the rest of the country. Help us. #Insiders

Finally got up the courage to test the #DysonZone in public. The stares followed by pointed looking away remind me of the time I locked myself out in my PJs and had to go to the Boutke St Mall to get mum’s keys. The air from the purifier is nice and cool on a 35 degree day.

The idea of pausing, let alone cancelling, the rollout of separated bike lanes in the Melbourne CBD is ridiculous at a time when petrol prices are high and voters just overwhelmingly showed they want to combat climate change. My column in The Age tomorrow:

Those cheering the move away from commonsense health measures (like mandatory quarantine & mask requirements) must have an unimaginable amount of faith that the government will look after them if they get long covid. This means we’re now all on our own, with only luck to save us.

The vaccine reduces the chance of severe symptoms and death, which is very important. But it doesn’t do anything about long covid. Our health system is in crisis and an even larger influx of people with long term disability is only going to make that much worse.

Repeat after me: you do not need to have perceived ‘ownership’ over a woman before you can see them as a person with value. If your wife needs you to try and imagine a sexual assault victim as your daughter before you ‘get it’, then you should not be in a position of leadership.

I think it's totally fine to have a straight pride. As long as we get to vote on whether they can marry, & have a toxic debate about where they're allowed to pee. Plus criminalise straight sex and heavily police them. In some countries they should be put to death for existing.
