ALSO, if you can remember (I always forget). Screenshot compliments/messages, put them in a folder on your desktop and name it something lovely like ‘you are great’ and then you can go back and look at all the times you felt appreciated and proud :)

I’ve probably spent about 20+ hours editing the behind the scenes footage of BTS from the My Universe video. I fully now love BTS.

However I state they are ‘getting a discount on the basis of xyz’ and if the deliverables are time consuming vs the fee - I ask to change the deliverables and delivery time to fit better in line with the payment. & state my full fee paying clients get priority.

When I’m feeling super low, I start writing down all the small scale victories I get and date them in sheets - thank yous, compliments, moments I feel proud - the smallest things that make me smile….

Even if I’m shooting a show and they want me there right before show time. It’s still the same. Cos it’s likely stopping me from taking on jobs that are paid for the full day. I always charge for editing pics and vids!

Don’t get me wrong. I’ve worked for cheaper than I usually would at times. But it’s because work is slow and I have bills to pay. Or I really like the artist, what they’re doing, want to network with their team and see future paid work from it.
