I asked Premier Ford why his govt directed school board committees to stop public livestreams of meetings & if he’s blocking access to information for parents. He tells me he hasn’t heard of this but will “look into it.” The education minister’s office didn’t provide a reason.

Ontario’s education minister admits it’s unlikely the province will meet the $10/day childcare target without an infusion of federal funds. There’s a $2B shortfall, after the Ford government spent the federal money for the program in 4 years instead of the 5 it was allocated for.

Ford's TDSB supervisor is responsible for responding to the parents of 240,000 students at 584 schools. Without elected trustees, parents & students have no voice. The seizure of our school boards is a real estate scam. Once Ford has control, he'll start selling our schools.

For years, this gov’t has ignored reports from elected Trustees, Board Directors & education partners! Now, the Minister has repeatedly shared he’ll listen only to the recommendations of his hand picked Supervisors, friends of his party making 💰💰💰with no education experience!
It’s clear that governance changes are needed when it comes to our school boards. Our focus must remain on ensuring teachers have the resources they need to help our students succeed.
