And that's another season behind us. Now we can start thinking about the 2026 crop.

Waiting for the dryer to catch up so we can finish harvest this afternoon, so dad started backfilling tile drains. This November weather sure has been nice for getting these jobs caught up.

First time growing black beans. Took two tries to get a decent stand this spring. These were replanted July 4th. Not expecting a big yield, but the fact that they are here and we are harvesting them is encouraging.

The most satisfying pass of the year, and conditions are perfect for it.

This Aggie we hired to help out after school seems to be fitting into this circus just fine. Carter is doing a fine job with the cart. Found some damn good beans along the way. Today was a good day 👍

We joined the harvest party today. Also got this idea off of the internet, so I had Kent Fab bend it out of stainless for me, and it has already saved my ass (and the combine's) a few times by keeping rocks out of it.

First planted canola is up. It caught some rain the night I planted it, and it somehow came up in this lumpy stuff. Finished the last field today and could use another rain.

Field #2 of winter canola going in and we are getting things dialed in. Small seed this year and we decided to bulk it up with Tiger 90 to hit our population target. Good planting conditions and enough moisture to give it a chance at a decent start at life.

My big thought of the day: Cut back on canola acres or not? Only a few weeks away from my target planting date, and the markets don't look good. Will we have a resolution before harvest next summer? Who knows.

Finished the wheat harvest tonight. Best view in the neighborhood, on a farm that has a lot of family history behind it. Good crops, great weather and zero breakdowns. Couldn't ask for much more than that.

Double crop beans going in after canola. Got lucky last year, we'll see if our luck will continue. Planting very nice, but it's also very dry here on the outskirts of Blenheim.

When the local race car shop gets you out of a pinch and saves you a bunch of money. This part of the exhaust would have cost more than my first truck if we got it from the dealer. Much stronger than OEM too.

I was starting to think things were getting dry around here. I stand corrected. 1.4" in less than an hour.

The black beans are planted, thanks to one of our good neighbors who let us use their tractor and planter since we no longer have a 15" row planter. The canola is changing fast, and is looking great. Does anyone have a secret to get rid of the Deere rash?

Planning to stale seedbed some corn into this ground that was worked last fall. It looks dry on top, but it's still very soft. So we've been covering acres with our little rig. Time consuming, but that's clay farming.
