In 5 years time, we don’t want everyone to be paying a random wallet that has left the ecosystem just to reserve a Nametag. Thats why we are moving away from web 2 DNS in the first place. A name service has no running costs, its just a contract.

A key feature of a Name Service is being able to actually trade the names, which is why having them as NFTs are superior. They can be traded on any Marketplace and viewed in any wallet.
