Loved (far too briefly!) wearing hard hats and really enjoyed spending time with @MLW_Programme seeing the excellent research being conducted and engaging with the exciting cohort of early career researchers. Thank you for hosting us so generously.
Today Friday 22 March 2024, the @wellcometrust visitors toured the CREATOR Building which is still under construction at the Malawi Liverpool Wellcome Programme's premises in Blantyre as part of their ongoing visit. Here are some pictures of the delegation during the tour.

When you look at the toll of recent heatwaves in the UK, it’s clear that measures to protect people from rising heat are genuinely a matter of life and death. We need a whole-of-government approach to address this issue and this report provides a strong starting point.

Everyone working on climate and health should feel immensely proud. There is much more to do and much further to go, but we have firmly brought the focus back to the health consequences of climate change and benefits of healthy climate action, and that can only be a good thing.

And the presence of health ministers/senior health officials of 100+ countries at COP, nearly all of whom had not been to a COP before, firmly lodges climate on the agenda of health ministries around the world.

125+ countries signed up to the first ever COP declaration on climate and health, committing themselves to looking at climate action through a health lens. Because we all know that alongside health risks of inaction, there are huge health benefits to mitigation.

Excellent to see a commitment in the Nairobi Declaration to protect lives. We can measure climate change in degrees C and sea-level rise, but we will most acutely feel its effects in the risks to our health and survival.
