There are never enough words for the beloved women who have provided childcare (and love and wisdom) for my kids over the years. Glad for this chance to shine a light on them. Thanks to co-authors @AltafSaadiMD and @anne_thorndike and of course to @TheOpEdProject

Striving to live and work based on “What would Hasan do?” It was a privilege to have him as my PD! We love you Hasan! ❤️ #MGH4life
A fantastic event to honor Dr. Hasan Bazari, Program Director Emeritus @MGHMedicine. A legendary clinician, educator and leader. His kindness and emphasis on humanity in medicine deeply influenced 1000s of trainees. Honored to say that he was my PD #MGH4life #bazariconferenceroom

Continuity is #slowmagic. Watching my senior residents cry as they bid farewell to their primary care patients... if they could feel that bond before subspecialty choice, would more choose primary care? #primarycare #PublicVoices @TheOpEdProject

I will always remember as a new primary care attending, hearing my front desk staff pleading with patients that were being transferred from a retired male physician and had “never had a woman doctor”: “No don’t worry, she is young but she is very qualified, etc etc”

Spent this morning visiting a shelter for Ukrainian refugees in Tijuana. Spent the afternoon at a shelter @ImmDef visits regularly to provide legal services to mostly Haitian & Central American families. The differences between the two are stark and soul-shattering. 🧵

Vacations and perks aren't cures for exhaustion. They're temporary bandages to stop the bleeding. The first principle of fighting burnout is to reduce demands. Stop overloading teams with stressful tasks and expecting one person to do multiple jobs. https://t.co/4AL1rvsWI5

"Incarcerated patients handcuffed to beds are a far too common sight in the hospital. The patient at the center of this story was intubated, heavily sedated and medically paralyzed, yet he was still handcuffed to the bed he was dying in." https://t.co/htK2mp2ruk

Restraining incarcerated prisoners should be the exception rather than the rule.
