Michael Jackson thrived in a unique era with limited internet & segregated markets, breaking racial barriers. He stood alongside icons like Prince, Madonna, Whitney & Janet. Today's landscape is fragmented; Beyonce's success stands out because her peers dont match the 80s legends.
MJ operated in a very specific time where there was a global monoculture, so I don’t think anyone will be as “big” as him again. Culture is much more shattered and siloed today, which makes Beyoncé’s popularity even more impressive. Especially considering her focus on artistry.

Michael Jackson's Thriller, Smooth Criminal, Remember the Time, Black or White, Earth Song, Captain EO & Ghost are all artistically & visually superior to Lemonade or BIK. His Super Bowl, MTV VMA & Grammy performances also outshine Beyoncé's, even with less technical advancement.
@Perrie_Is_Back I understand Beyoncé may have gotten a lot of inspiration from him but he never visually gave us a Lemonade or BlK. He never gave us a performance like Coachella or Renaissance, and mind you Beyoncé did most of her performances in the mid 2010’s pregnant and in heels 🤷🏽♂️.

Claiming Beyoncé is bigger than Michael Jackson just because her tours grossed more doesn't make it true. MJ's solo tours sold 4.4M, 4M, & 4.5M tickets, vs Bey's 2.7M. One of his tours had no US dates, another had 2 shows – numbers like these are something Beyoncé can dream of.
