This is beautiful. Umrao Jaan, which was re-released in cinemas recently, was partly set in Faizabad. From what I guessed, most of the filming was in Lucknow.
'Difficult Roads Leading to the city of Faizabad', from a manuscript of Mir Hasan's Urdu work 'Eid ki tahniyat', 1786 (copied in 1822, probably in Lucknow for Lala Lachhman Das). People must cross bad, muddy roads before arriving in the gleaming city of Faizabad!
