Good news story! Today @acmadotgov announced the decision to not register revisions the commercial TV industry proposed for the Commercial Television Industry Code of Practice. This means that 800+ additional hours will not open up for alcohol ads to further flood our TVs.

A timely study drawing attention to the mandatory requirements now in place for alcohol companies to display the evidence-based pregnancy health warning. The study shows that many alcohol companies delayed introducing the warnings during the lengthy three-year transition phase.

This includes reforms to bring our privacy laws up to speed with the digital era. The first tranche of reforms introduce a Children's Online Privacy Code - hopefully we will see a speedy introduction of a second tranche addressing other recommendations from the Privacy Act review.
