David attended the Mid North High Rainfall Zone spring field day on Friday, taking advantage of the opportunity to learn more about frost impacts & mitigation strategies at the Frost Learning Centre near Farrell Flat. Thank you to @MidNorthHRZ and SARDI for organising the day.

David Oddie has also been out to the Minnipa Agriculture Centre Field Day on Wednesday. The day showcased the latest research in low rainfall farming systems, including looking at differing types of crop and their nitrogen losses, plus national variety trials. #SoilIsLife

David Oddie, our SA & TAS Area Manager, attended the Air EP Crop Walk on Tuesday, hosted in Cummins on the Eyre Peninsula, SA. The day covered topics such as the effectiveness of lime applications, new Agtech and a viewing of their long term crop rotation trial. #SoilIsLife

Andrew Huebner, our Northern VIC Area Manager, has been out at the Western Ag Yield Max Trial Day in Waubra today. The morning was insightful with a walk through of their Canola Varieties demonstration paddock and exploration of the latest yield-maximisation techniques.

SA Dairy Project Update: .Colwell phosphorus map of 63Ha with an average Colwell P of 75mg/kg, ranging from 24-300mg/kg. In an effort to better utilise on-farm resources, a targeted effluent program has been instigated to apply product on identified low nutrition regions. (1/2)

South Australia Dairy Project Update: .Soil pH map of a 94ha South-Eastern SA Dairy farm with an average soil pH of 5.9, however the soil variability showed pH ranges from 4.1-7.4. Lime application targeting 5.2pH to reduce the variability was applied. (1/2)

Campbell has been in the Northern Rivers, NSW, working with a local macadamia farm on their soil variability, a huge challenge in permanent crops. If soil constraints aren't properly managed, it can have huge impacts on future yield and ultimately potential profit.

The farmers were supported by their agronomists from Ground Up Ag Solutions, Dagro & Western Ag. In partnership between Precision Ag & the agronomists, there was great collaboration in understanding the methods used to analyse the soil data and then the key decision making. .

The session was led by PA's resident soil scientist Dr Kirsten Barlow with Gerard O'Brien from Western Ag also providing great agronomic insights. The group covered a lot of topics from basic soil science through to use of technology to drive better decision making on farm.
