Now more than ever, We need to recognize the contributions of Black scientists, especially in environmental fields, as we go unnoticed, but keep joy at the forefront as this administration is hellbent on making us miserable. Let me know in the comments with #FoundThatLizard

Side-blotched lizards rely more on sight than smell when hunting their prey, finding mates, and getting other environmental cues. Can you #FindThatLizard ?

You're searching for a side-blotched lizard, Uta stansburiana. All lizards have a Jacobson's organ aka vomeronasal which allows them to smell. Like many other iguanid lizards, the side-blotched lizard's is not as well developed as a forked tongue lizard like monitor lizards.

Hi, I'm Earyn, and I'm a lizard scientist! Back in 2018, I created a game to teach people about lizards and increase the representation of Black women as herpetologists. #FindThatLizard is a Where's Waldo-esque game where there is a lizard camouflaged in its environment.

While we’re not in lizard season, I’m focused on making my lizard pottery. This is going to be my first proper and cohesive collection. I’m so excited! With everything going on, this is how I keep sane.

In my research for tonight’s #FindThatLizard I learned of the existence of toad headed lizards. They are both cute and terrifying. Adding to my list of lizards to see in the wild.

I wonder what it will take for society to shift from money being the goal to taking care of the planet/each. I wonder what that process will actually look like. If anyone knows of people doing this work/ resources. Please tag them because I want to do a deep dive.

I ran into my ex at the gym and we acknowledged each other & continued on as strangers. For a time I loved this man. I went to therapy because of this man. I cried & my heart broke over this man. And now we just exist at the same place at the same time as strangers. It’s so weird.
