Circuit was privileged and proud to support the successful efforts of circuiteer Glen Parsons to have blue plaque installed to honour Filey's Caribbean recruits' forgotten sacrifices. Installed privately following council refusal to locate in local Memorial Gardens.

Filey Series! Keith Alphonso Speid joined the RAF at 16 .and was a Deputy Provost Marshal when Queen Elizabeth II married Prince Philip in Nov 1948. He worked in telecoms for GPO and later for Siemens Plessey, retiring to Jamaica after 50 years in the UK.

Alfred Lawrance born 1864 in Barbados, lived in Scarborough and Aberdeen through a link to the maritime industry. A great granddaughter's family story that includes a shipwreck and the Cuban missile crisis!
