I put some things on my website in case anyone ever asks to be directed to it. But the darkness level of my books is about as low as can be for paranormal stuff. The things I’m more worried about are more like 🤰🏼things. My MC was a child saved by magic for example.

Did you write the trope for love or money? Did you follow a formula by choice? The hero may not journey, and the cat can save herself. Write an original story from your heart, not within guardrails. (I started three books in a row with the same plot).AI isn't the only slop.

In narration. I agree. With the cheeky social-media obsessed comedic relief character. I can see it being rather funny. Especially if the MC rolls their eyes at it.
If you write ‘unalive’ in prose or character dialogue, in your NOVEL - which I have seen TWICE NOW - I will immediately wince and full body cringe. The TikTokification of words has to stop. Your character almost DIED or was KILLED in your novel. They were not almost ‘unalived’.
