PS. I only have specific socks for eating dinner, it doesn't matter for breakfast or lunch. That would be weird.

Now my anxiety is shining through as I feel weird for letting the mask slip and explaining the significance of different types of socks. Why oh why couldn't of just shut up and ate dinner with the wrong socks on? , why do I even have specific socks for eating dinner? lol.

Every now & again my mask slips and my autistic traits slip out. Yesterday I explained that I couldn't eat because I had the wrong type of socks on. I explained that I need comfy fluffy house socks to eat dinner, not restrictive sensible work socks. In retrospect not subtle.

Back in 2022 I explained to someone that I felt I was experiencing burnout & and said I would take 3 months off to recover. They replied 'oh honey 3 months won't cut it, try 3 years'. I thought she was being dramatic, but as we head towards 2025, I realise she was right.

I started to read & thought maybe this is a bit much. Then read more & thought that's just sensible. I realised that I do virtually everything on the list. Then realised that it's really upsetting that I have normalised this behaviour. I needed that reality check. Thanks.
