This candid photo is credited to Jack Ludlam, and is described simply as “Robert Palmer and friends at the Groucho Club, Soho,” which suggests it was an informal social night rather than a publicised press event as it has no other details. I wonder who the chap is to his left...

Today in Rock History September 10, 1988 Robert Palmer’s hit single “Simply Irresistible” peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Released as the lead single from his album Heavy Nova.

#RobertPalmer performed in Tokyo, Japan on July 12, 2003, among his final concert performances before his sudden death in September later that year. This image was taken by Beezer, a Japan-based photographer from Bristol with a 45 year history in the industry. RIP RAP
