Guy in the swim opposite kept casting in my water. He’s using a free running lead which I told him isn’t a great hooker. I advised him to put a buffer behind it and cast in his own water to which he agreed. In five minutes, I negotiated a border arrangement with backstop.

In fishing there’s an old adage that says effort equals reward. This trip I’ve moved and fished six different swims. Every time I’ve got on fish but they’ve moved despite very stealthy angling. Finally, last night I got on a good number of them and I’ve just had a 43.06 common!

What a lovely few hours we had. River caught his first carp which lead him a fine dance on a whip! He caught numbers of roach and rudd too. Wonderful fun in the spring equinox sunshine! Was great to see a full car park and lots of dads and lads out angling together. Perfect day!
