The emerald ash borer came from China, likely on wood imports. It’s recently been spotted in western York County. Experts say that ash trees could face the same fate as elm trees over time.

This tiny insect is causing big problems. The emerald ash borer kills white ash trees in Maine, seen on street sides and used as firewood. They’re extremely difficult to stop.
