Alvarez and Javier get $11 million raises next season.
While the Astros do have around $60 million coming off the books after the season, a significant portion will get wiped out by raises to Javier and Alvarez as well as Brown and Diaz getting to arbitration. They will also have arb2 and arb3 guys get raises.

The Astros would have Correa, Jeremy Peña, Isaac Paredes, and Christian Walker for the next two seasons. Could one of those four play second base? I think Peña could, but could the Astros look to trade Peña knowing they probably won't be able to extend him.
An Astros reunion with Carlos Correa would be pretty straightforward for this season, but it brings up a lot of interesting questions for 2026.

Rough year for MLB medical staffs.
Acuña held back tears as he talked after tonight's game. He said he'll be further evaluated (likely MRI) tomorrow. He felt discomfort when he scored from first on Monday. He lobbied to play today because in his mind he had missed too much time already this season.

It was a two-strike pitch to Nathaniel Lowe, who is hitting the ball in the air to the opposite field at a much higher rate than the league average, and it's been even higher this season.
@AdamSpolane Who was batting? Was very surprised to see a right fielder in that position versus a lefty.

"I saw the right fielder playing center field and, you know, we have a center fielder for that" is a great line.
Framber Valdez, through an interpreter: “When I saw it went through, I said it was going to be a hit. But then I saw the right fielder playing center field and, you know, we have a center fielder for that. I felt like the right fielder should have been playing right field.”.

You can't complain about people speculating about injuries when you refuse to give any information about those injuries. The Stroud shoulder thing took on a life of its own because the Texans allowed it to do so. You have to say more than "he'll be ready when he's ready".
#Texans HC DeMeco Ryans on more of his thoughts of reporting injuries. “They don’t have all the information….we have all the information….I think it’s unfair that people want to be first to report the injury and not take the player into consideration.”

Someone paying for anything with a check in 2025 is an immediate red flag.
Marcus Morris was taken into custody in Florida and is being held without bond on a felony out-of-state warrant for writing a bad check. (Via @TMZ)
