💭 by being explicit with the feedback there is a shared model of what ‘effective’ looks and feels like. GK can then engage in deliberate practice . Definitely agree effective is key, how we get there during formative years is a interesting debate.

💭 Young goalkeeper would model themselves off technical behaviours to provide feedback on effectiveness - if it’s just effective it becomes purely outcome based .💭The ability to give specific feedback on what is deemed as ‘good’ is important so GK . can practise deliberately.

Discussion today around how a goalkeeper becomes ‘effective’. We are in a time now where there is a shift towards ‘as long as they are effective, difference is fine’…totally agree. Discussion was more around how you get to that point. Some thoughts….
