In moments like this, we are reminded why we started. Encouraging words from His Royal Majesty, Igwe Samuel Ikechukwu Asadu (Igwe Ogadagidi), reminding us that the journey of culture must be protected, promoted, and passed on. We carry this charge with honour.

Growing up in the North, it breaks me to see things getting worse. My parents still live there, and I pray for their safety every day. Anytime I don’t hear from them, the panic hits me hard. Kai this is not the life anyone should live.

The chaos that comes with getting ready for the biggest festival in Enugu, but trust me, it’s the kind of chaos that means something great is coming.

One reason I stay numb to situations like this is because of how I grew up in Mubi, Adamawa. As a child in 2010/2011, my family and I were running from Boko Haram. I still get triggered by loud sounds because they remind me of gunshots, bombs, and people dying while we escaped.

Waking up to meal prep and cooking, suddenly your gas runs out. You have to remember why being alone is not easy.
