@lucisev
I feel like my english teachers largely taught like, the most obvious of symbolism, so I never resonated with this meme. Like if you didn't agree with the symbolism teachers were talking about in my classes you were actually just wrong lmao.
Did you know that if you drop the two door keys you get in chapter 3 of awakening you get a special game over?
Are there any other funny FE game over conditions?
Something I like about Fire Emblem is that it keeps stats small (< 3 digits), digestible and understandable. It's nice that it's pretty easy to tell how much damage a unit is going to do and be dealt, vs other games where stat screens are often less comprehensible to me.
This is one of the coolest units I've seen in an SRPG.
She's a cracked archer with great stats and skills, BUT she's against killing humans, so she can't (she leaves them at 1 hp instead). Perfect for setting up kills, strong stats, but with meaningful limitations.
An important Fire Emblem etiquette imo is not bothering people who are just having fun or aren't talking about unit viability. Like if someone is talking about their favorite unit, or how fun a build is, you don't need to be in their replies/QTs with the spreadsheet calculations.
The strongest part of the worldbuilding in 3h isn't the lore on its own, it's the way the lore interacts with the characters. The character's struggles are linked to Fodlan's political and social systems in a way that usually feels organic and interesting.
I feel like Ethlyn is one of the most universally beloved fe characters, because every time Ethlyn comes up, half the people in my discord reply "oh I love Ethlyn"
One of the things I like about Fire Emblem is how the gameplay can create unique narratives everytime you play it, through things like growths, death, and the whims of RNG. It's part of the reason people can become attached to "random recruit with 4 lines of dialogue"
I keep seeing people talking about the statistics on this bear vs man thing and it feels like it intentionally misses the point.
The point is that many women don't feel safe around men, we (men) should do something about that instead of "well actually"ing.
Alright, I definitely want to ask the Fire Emblem fans a question related to Three Houses and its criticisms.
If Intelligent Systems announced a remake, or a "definitive" edition someday, what would you improve? In terms of gameplay, content, stories, visuals, and accessibility.
Something I don't like about a lot of social sim stuff in RPGs (social links, 3h advice box) is how often the rewarding response to a character's query is to tell them what they want to hear vs considering what might be best to say to them/what they need to hear.
Did you know that with an enchanter boosted, +5 radiant bow with an Ike engrave, you need 0 magic to one shot every flier in Engage? This is because the radiant bow is cracked
Anytime trans people come up in gaming communities I see a lot of comments like this so I thought I would explain why these communities are in fact the place to discuss these issues:
Because trans people are in your communities, and you should care about them.
The avg starting constitution for women in fe8 is 5. Ewan's starting con is 5. Ewan is a literal child. Almost everyone should have more con than him.
I do not accept realism as a reason for gendered con disparity in gba FE. Plus buff women are just as realistic as buff men.
Okay folks here's additional context.
In Three Houses' first 11 months they got the same amount of units Engage currently got.
However it was as New Heroes banners and no seasonal-hell characters.
They also got 5 summer characters 1 month after this.
It's fine to disagree with this, but the replies are actually just cope. 3h is not just talked about for being controversial.
Like its fine not to like 3h, but at some point, even if you don't like it you gotta accept it was a widely enjoyed and popular game.
I really like the idea of Alear as a Lord. I wish the dragon bonuses on the emblems were overall a little better, but I like the idea of a Lord that's primarily focused on providing utility/flexibility, vs being a combat god.
Gotohs are often thought of as soft lock preventers, but interestingly the original Gotoh doesn't really do that. My man is just there to warp your actual boss killer lmao.
Any defense of a game that *exclusively* involves criticizing another game will not make me like your game more, I will instead find you joyless and also lame.
Tell me why the game you like is good, not why all other games are bad.
I really like how Fates Shadow Dragon does durability. The cheap stuff like irons has infinite durability, but the strong weapons have limited uses. Keeps what I like about durability while cutting back on the tedium of buying and replacing irons.

I was on the events committee when Nathan Fielder came to my college so I got to meet him back stage. At the time I had a broken arm in a sling. He asked if he could sign the sling. I said yes and he signed it "heal - Nathan"
I feel like forced hate should be used to describe characters where people contrive reasons not to like a character, but people keep posting characters where there are like clear and obvious reasons why the character is disliked lmao.
What Fire Emblem units do you think are underrated or haven't gotten a fair shake from the community? Why are they better than we think? I think Erk is a bit better than community perception!
Warning that responses may be used in a video.
@Shock_and_Roll
I thought Alear played a really nice "straight man" role to the rest of the cast's Zaniness. Like I loved seeing Alear react whenever someone did something unhinged.
I think all the Fire Emblem games are fine to start with except the direct sequels. People overthink when recommending what FE someone should start with.
IMO People should just start with whichever game's setting or cast jumps out at them
This isn't to say every piece of worldbuilding in 3h is great. But I do think it's the best the series has ever had. It's the reason characters like Felix and Sylvain are interesting instead of just being boring edgelord and boring misogynist

I think gameplay vs story debates are silly for two reasons:
A. They are not opposed
B. Gameplay and story aren't unrelated things that can be totally separated. Gameplay is storytelling
I dislike how obsessed some gamers are with sales as a measure of quality. I do not care if the game you like sold well, tell me what you like about it instead!
Stuff like this is unacceptably common. Voice chat games in particular go super unmoderated. And the replies here show that it's not an isolated issue.
She's right, it should be a lifetime ban.
I have never made a more desperate plea that what I am about to say right now.

I need you guys to fucking do something. I am an incredibly strong person and I have been streaming for a very, very long time. But absolutely nothing prepares you for someone
I feel very fortunate that the worst common comments I get on YouTube are just about how I talk, but also its beyond me what leads people to comment stuff like this as if they're being nice.
Imagine putting a heart at the end of this lmao.
FE8 Syrene is underrated, people think she's trash, but actually she's more like mediocre!
You actually want to deploy her for at least 2 of her 4 chapters (18, 20), she's decent enough in Endgame as well. Plus, I like her headband.
That being said if there ever were a fire emblem college class, optimal play and good units seems like the most useless thing you could possibly teach lmao. Would not be part of my curriculum
IMO an issue back then (and still today but I feel like it happens a bit less), is that some folks don't recognize when "no one asked".
e.g. It's fine to think knights are bad, but unless you're talking unit evaluation with someone, your armor take may not always be wanted!
