Jody is right: elected officials should be doing everything in their power to preserve, protect and expand Social Security—not gut it. The next generation needs Social Security too so they can retire with dignity. America’s unions will keep organizing to make sure that happens.

It's time for a #FlashbackFriday to the Florida Alliance's 90th Social Security celebration in Tallahassee last week! More than thirty retirees came in support of Social Security, and former Congressman Al Lawson (a Retiree Hero!) closed out the event with powerful remarks.

ICYMI: While Republicans want to keep Social Security from celebrating its centennial, we can protect the program by making the rich pay their fair share. Michael Hiltzik broke it down last week ⬇️.

FDR saw Social Security as protection against 'the hazards and vicissitudes of life,' as he put it in signing the Social Security Act 90 years ago this week. That protection has never been more...

We've been thinking a lot about Stephen Miller's 'elderly hippies' tirade. Don't let yourself think that he doesn't understand the power of older Americans getting together and mobilizing. We need to stick together and fight.

Do you know who mail-in voting really helps? America's seniors, who can more easily make their voices heard in elections. Congress must protect this measure to ensure we have free and fair elections.

You know what really makes life better for older Americans? Programs like Social Security, Medicaid, and Medicare, which ensure we can continue to live with dignity as we enter retirement. Congress must protect these programs.

We've got more pics from last weekend's Social Security event in ATX! Texas Alliance members came out to rally for our earned benefits, and in Austin they were joined by @RepLloydDoggett. This diverse group united behind a clear message: #HandsOffSocialSecurity!

Stephen Miller, a word? Alliance activists of all ages and races are paying attention to this Administration's policies that put the needs of billionaires ahead of people, and we're alarmed. We're not going to nap; we're going to educate, mobilize, and fight. Get used to it.

Stephen Miller: "All these demonstrators that you've seen out here in recent days, all these elderly white hippies, they're not part of the city and never have been . we're gonna ignore these stupid white hippies that all need to go home and take a nap because they're all over

"Without Social Security, who’s going to be taking care of them?". It's an important question from WI Alliance President Ross Winklbauer, who helped organize a rally in Racine last week. Get the full scoop on the event ⬇️.

It bears repeating: How can you be pro-business if you cut programs like Social Security, which provide seniors with disposable income? What's the logic there?. Can any Republican in Congress help us out?.

Republican logic: It's fine that our parents' nursing homes are shutting down and we don't have the resources to care for them, as long as the ultra-wealthy can get even richer. Makes sense.

Don't let Republicans tell you that Trump's big beautiful bill won't hurt you. Hospitals are already warning that closures are coming. But Jeff Bezos will get a tax handout to buy another yacht.

Alright, let's be realistic: If we want to protect Social Security and make sure seniors can get their full earned benefits, then we need to make sure the wealthiest Americans pay their fair share. We can make this happen, but Congress must act.

Remember how we declared we would hold anti-retiree members of Congress accountable? Well, we're staying true to our word. That's why we presented Rep. Juan Ciscomani's staff with his Retiree Zero award to remind hiim that we're paying attention to how he votes.

The US wealth gap is bigger than ever in 2025, and that affects how we fund Social Security. It's past time to make the wealthy pay more into Social Security and ensure that our earned benefits are secure for future generations.
