So CATS existing budget has enough $ in it to pay for a $3.4 million campaign to improve the “perception “of safety when riding CATS but needed to raise your taxes to provide you the “dignity” bus shelters? 🤣 How many bus shelters does $3.4 million buy?
Last night, Charlotte City Council approved a $3.4 million contract with a Texas based PR firm to "enhance the public’s perception and use of public transit in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area."

Ther are transit projects on @CLTCityCouncil agenda 4 approval & are renewable by City Manager instead of MPTA. @JoeBrunoWSOC9 Why wouldn’t these project wait until after MPTA’s formed next month? Is MPTA legally bound to honor them & will City Manager be in charge of renewal?

Joe, I heard @CLTCityCouncil say last night that they would release the scoring they did on each MPTA candidate’s interview. Have you seen them? If not, can you request them?
The PAVE Act requires the city of Charlotte to appoint someone with small business experience to the MPTA. A spokesperson for the city says that person is David Howard.

I can confirm this vote tally is accurate. Charlotte City Councilmembers were emailed it by the city clerk. They will vote Monday on the final three spots. Those who received 2-5 votes are eligible
